Gather your gumdrops, folks! It's time for Lucketts Community Center's Annual Holiday Gingerbread House Contest. Enter to win a prize and be the talk of the neighborhood!
Entry Drop-Off
Competition is free and open to everyone. Simply register here, then drop off your creation at the Lucketts Community Center between Monday, December 9th and Friday morning, December 13th. The Center is open from 7AM to 9PM, so come by anytime. Entries need to be dropped off no later than Friday, December 13th at 11AM.
Judging
All entries will be judged the morning of December 13th, with winners announced that evening at the Old Schoolhouse's Holiday Jingle and Mingle event at 6:30PM.
Entries are judged on: Overall Appearance (Attractive, Neat, Good Proportion); Originality/Creativity (Creative use of edible materials, Uniquenes of design); Workmanship/Technique (All materials -except base- are edible, wrappers removed from decorations, structure assembled securely, decorations securely attached, neat); Level of Difficulty
Winners
Winners will be announced on Facebook and also at Lucketts Community Center's Jingle & Mingle Event event on Friday, December 13th at 6:30PM. Prizes will available for pick up beginning Monday, December 11th.
Entry Specifics
- Please securely attach a copy of your entry ticket (from TicketLeap) OR a 3"x5" card on the underside of your display base listing your name, email address, telephone number and the category you have entered (Adult, age 18+; Child ages 3-17; Family/Group)
- Creation must be constructed mainly of gingerbread (more than 50%) homemade or from a kit.
- Non-visible supports may be used, but everything visible on your entry must be edible.
- Your creation must be on a solid board or surface that is 20x20 inches or smaller.
- Lucketts Community Center reserves the right to refuse any inappropriate entry.
Entry Pick-Up
All entries will be available for pick-up beginning Monday, December 16 through Friday, December 20 between 7:00AM and 9:00PM. Entries that are not picked up by Friday, December 20th will be discarded.
